How to clean Aquarium gravel

Notice the hose end coming out of the tank is lower than the gravel cleaner inside the tank. This is needed to create a siphon. You will deplete the tank of some water so a water top will be needed.
Cleaning gravel is important to get rid of the waste that has accumulated in it.
-Get yourself a siphon cleaner or gravel cleaner from the shop.
-Take any easy to get ornaments out of the tank to make cleaning easier.
-Get a bucket for the dirty water to go in.
-Place the gravel cleaner into the tank
-Suck on the end sticking out of the tank or shake it up and down to create suction.
-As the water starts running into the bucket move the gravel clean over the gravel disturbing it as much as possible.
-The dirty water should be concentrated in the plastic gravel cleaner device and being sucked up and out of the tank onto the bucket.
-Systematically work your way around the tank disturbing the gravel. Shaking the gravel cleaner over the gravel does this well.
-Refill the tank with the amount of lost water.
-This method allows you to clean the tank without having to take the gravel out, or moving the fish to a separate container.
