The Green Chromis is a popular addition to a reef tank and is a shoaling species.
The Green Chromis has a brilliant green-blue sheen to the scales. This fish is found in the Indo-Pacific and Red Sea. It can grow to a length of 10cm and is seen as a peaceful community fish.
The Green Chromis is often seen as a great starter fish because it is relatively inexpensive and is a hardy specimen. If you have a small tank then they can be kept as a single species, and if you have a large tank they can be kept in numbers. They can sometimes be shy to feed and if kept in numbers they will seek safety in numbers.
I have looked after these fish and have found that some of them can nip at other tank mates if kept in pairs or alone. They seem happier when there is several of them.
