The Clown Surgeonfish (Acanthurus lineatus), has an interesting split level coloration. There is a lighter area to the lower body with the upper body being covered in parallel lines.
The Clown Surgeonfish is also known as the blue lined surgeonfish due to its colouration. This fish should not be kept with other clown surgeonfish because they will fight with one another.
This fish can grow to 15cm in length and is found in the Indo Pacific. It will need a diet of vegetable matter to keep it healthy. The Clown Surgeonfish will also benefit from being in a reef tank where it can hide in the corals and live rock.
The Clown surgeonfish is not always available in the aquarium trade and may need to be ordered. This fish can be kept in pairs or more if it is housed in a very large aquarium.
