Picture
The Cardinal Tetra is a very colourful fish and ranks as one of the most popular tropical fish.
The Cardinal Tetra is a shoaling fish and so a large group can be put into an aquarium to create a stunning display.
It is best to keep these fish In shoals as they seek safety in numbers. Plus it makes for an impressive display when it comes to feeding time.

The Cardinal Tetra requires mature warm water to survive well and no other tank mates that could eat them. They look great in a planted aquarium. The Cardinal Tetra is mass bred to support the aquarium trade however they are still sometimes farmed from their natural habitats.
The Cardinal Tetra originates from Brazil, Columbia and Brazil. They prefer a water temperature between 24-30 degrees centigrade and soft and acidic water.

The Cardinal Tetra will eat flake food, frozen and live food.
